Sensei Amit More is the Secretary and Chief Instructor of the M.H. Shotokan Karate Organization (MSKO). A highly decorated martial artist, he has been announced for the prestigious Major Dhyanchand Maharashtra Kreeda Ratna Award 2025. With a Black Belt Nidan (2nd Dan) certified by the World Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Organisation, and certification from PMKVY, he specializes in traditional Shotokan Karate, self-defense, yoga, and kickboxing.

PILLAR 01KIHON — THE FOUNDATION

The Basics

Kihon is the foundation of Karate. It involves practicing basic blocks, punches, strikes, and kicks repeatedly to build correct form, muscle memory, strength, and explosive speed.

The Forms

Kata consists of choreographed sequences of movements, fending off imaginary opponents. Practicing Kata refines posture, focus, breathing, rhythm, and self-defense applications (Bunkai).

The Sparring

Kumite is the practical application of basics and forms in controlled sparring with an opponent. It teaches combat distancing, timing, anticipation, defensive reactions, and tactical execution.

Kids can start karate from the age of 5. At this age, they're ready to learn basic movements, follow instructions, and build good habits early on.
Your child learns to protect themselves and build real self-defense skills. Competing in tournaments boosts their confidence and even helps them perform better in school sports. With regular practice, they stay fit and disciplined too.
It typically takes 3-4 years of consistent training.
There are 9 belts in total: Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Maroon, Purple, Brown, Brown-Yellow, and Brown-Black.
Just ₹500 per month.
A one-time registration fee of ₹1000 is required to officially enroll your child with the MSKO Organisation. This fee is also used for CSR activities helping kids who are good at karate but can't afford to keep training.
Classes starts from 7:15 PM to 8:30 PM.
Yes, absolutely. Tournaments build your child's confidence, open doors to new opportunities, and help them grow into a stronger, more capable athlete.
Definitely. Being away from home for the day teaches kids to handle things on their own and exposes them to new experiences. Camps also include other activities that positively shape both their mental and physical development.
Yes! Students who compete in school games at the state level earn 25 bonus marks. These marks also help them secure admission in 11th and 12th grade through the sports quota.
